If you had asked someone to give you a list of things to do in Miami 15 years ago, you would have heard all about sunbathing in South Beach as well as the many posh & fancy night clubs. You would have maybe even heard a stereotypical reference to Tony Montana and ‘his little friend’.
This is because if you were looking for something to do back then, besides go on an Everglades boat tour, South Beach was really the only place to go site see.
Wynwood, An Emerging Cultral Epicenter
In the last 15 years, many different ‘scenes’ (aka: neighborhoods) have emerged in Miami, my favorite of which is Wynwood. Located just north of Downtown Miami, Wynwood is the burgeoning epicenter of all things cultural in Miami. It has it all; art, design, fashion and food.
You can find everything from high-end foo-foo retailers to the ultra granola hippie boutiques. If it’s delicious food that you are after (and I am ALWAYS after that), the newest and trendiest restaurants, bars and coffee shops are also found there.
And if you want to dive deep into the Miami art scene…That is right, there’s no other place quite like Wynwood. With over 70 art & design galleries, Wynwood is by far the most artistically rich area in Miami.
But you don’t need to visit all of the art galleries to get a true feel for the art in the city. The best art can actually be found ON the buildings of the neighborhood. You see, in Wynwood, artists which before would have been referenced as ‘spray painters’, are allowed to paint & create on the walls of the buildings.

The Pawfect Backdrop for Photos
These walls, filled with all the colors of the rainbow, make for the most pawfect picture backdrops. I am dedicated this whole post to the pawsome walls of Wynwood.
My favorite part about the walls? That they are constantly changing and being updated! New wall art means new future posts. For now, enjoy these beauties! 🙂 Enjoy!

Did you like the walls? Which one was your favorite? Let me know below 🙂
