So, you are thinking about visiting Miami….Or, you live here now and need some guidance deciphering where to go with your pooch.
Well, I am here to help! The last couple of years, I have made it a point to get out and really experience what this city has to offer us dogs. And, I am happy to report that Miami is a very dog-friendly city.
Below are just a FEW of the spots that you and your pooch can enjoy in this Magic City.
Dog-Friendly Miami: Where to Eat
Make sure you maintain that year-round summer-bod over at Raw Juce. Fresh oatmeal, daily cold-pressed juices and deliciously healthy smoothies will keep the body nice and tight! They are ultra dog-loving, always allowing us 4-legged pets into the store.
Perfect for those that love the green goodness of Matcha, Yoko Matcha serves up a variety of matcha-infused goodies (think: Matcha donuts, Iced Matcha w/Coconut Milk, Matcha Chia Pudding, etc). Located in Wynwood, inside the Eight Space store, Yoko Matcha will accept all pups at their counter (not just the cute ones 😛).
Burgers (and dog bones):
Shake Shack might not be exclusive to Miami but they made the list of dog-friendly places to visit while in Miami because many of the locations are ultra dog-loving. The humans get to enjoy delectable burgers and creamy milk & custard shakes, while the pooches get ice cream and milk bones. It’s a delectable win-win!
Caffeine-ing for Some Coffee:
Dogs are gods at this super cute coffee shop. Vice City Bean is a go-to neighborhood coffee-joint serving truly delicious lattes, cappuccinos, cold brews and more. There is a dog-bowl with water at the entrance of the shop, but dogs are also welcome inside (if they are as well-behaved as me in this photo – haha).
Brunchin’ & Munchin’:
Make sure you check out Brimstone Woodfire Grill in Doral for an epic Bark & Brunch experience every Sunday. Dogs are always welcome in the spacious and bright patio, and the food will even leave the humans drooling at how yummy it is. Steak Benedict? Yes, please! Mimosas? Keep them coming.
Dog-Friendly Miami: Where to Stay
With two outdoor pools, lush gardens and direct beach access, the Confidante Hotel Miami Beach, is the pawfect place to sun-daze the the time away. Very Important Pup (VIP) Private Cabanas? They got those. Margaritas with cute decorative umbrellas? They got those too!
Not so Standard, Standard:
Location: The Standard Hotel. The The Standard Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach, is the pawfect place to relax, enjoy a delicious meal or have a last-minute weekend getaway. Amidst peaceful tropical gardens, The Standard is less of a “hotel” and more of a spa with guest rooms. The whole place just screams relaxation.
Dog-Friendly Miami: What to See & Visit
Beach-side Botanical Garden:
The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is a little green urban oasis in the middle of the hustle-and-bustle of South Beach. It is sort of my best-kept-secret; where I take the fur-ladies on special dates. So lush, so romantic and so filled with places to leave my mark (eh, pee) on. Admission is free for human and dogs so its a great little escape when you are tight on cash!
Cruisin’ Miami Beach:
Let’s face it: Miami Beach is kind of a tourist trap. And rightfully so! It is one of the coolest (yet hottest), most unique places in Florida. That is why, if you are ever in South Florida, you MUST make it a point to visit Miami Beach. Just make sure you do it correctly or you’ll definitely spend a pretty penny. Make sure you read all my tips on the Top 5 Affordable Things to Do in Miami Beach, here.
An Artsy Stroll in Wynwood:
One of my favorite neighborhoods in Miami is Wynwood. It is the epicenter of all things artsy and cultural, filled with delicious restaurants, design shops and art galleries. Make sure you check out the amazing wall art painted all over the neighborhood building and get the camera ready for endless Instagrammable worthy photo ops!
A Shopping Bonanza in Brickell City Center:
Shopping, dining and entertainment come together in one of South Florida’s newest (and fanciest) shopping centers: Brickell City Center. With over 120 shops and eateries featuring Saks Fifth Avenue, La Centrale Italian Food Hall, CMX Cinema, Apple and Zara, to name a few, you and your pup can do all the shopping-till-you-droppin’ you want!
Sand, Swim and Surf at Hobie Beach:
There are a couple things in this life that really get me excited. One of those things is when the human tells me we are going to Hobie Beach, my favorite dog-friendly beach in Key Biscayne. There is no admission to go to this beach and if the beach is not that packed, you can even leave your dog off-leash. TIP: get there really early so you don’t have to deal with crowds of people (and pups!)
